President’s Message

Dear IAGB Community,

As we step into August, I am filled with gratitude and pride for the remarkable energy, unity, and enthusiasm our community continues to bring to every IAGB initiative. India Day 2026 is just around the corner, and this year’s theme, Colors of India, reflects the vibrance, diversity, and shared spirit that define our Greater Boston Indian community.

Our flagship event at NARA Park has received an overwhelming response. Cultural performances and vendor registrations are fully sold out, and both the Women’s and Men’s Tennis Ball Cricket Tournaments have reached capacity. I extend my sincere appreciation to everyone who registered, volunteered, and supported these programs. Your engagement strengthens our mission and inspires us to serve with even greater dedication.

We are honored to welcome distinguished dignitaries to India Day this year. The presence of Mr. Raghuram Satyanarayana Sastry, Consul General of India in Boston, as Chief Guest, and Ms. Anu Chitrapu, Senior Vice President at Bank of America, as Guest of Honor, adds immense significance to our celebration. Their leadership, service, and contributions to the community embody the values we cherish at IAGB.

This month also brought meaningful opportunities for community engagement. I had the privilege of attending Vision‑Aid’s annual production, Brothers in Arms – The Lions of Sivaganga, a powerful artistic tribute to India’s freedom movement and a fundraiser supporting individuals with visual impairment. IAGB is proud to stand alongside organizations that uplift and empower communities.

Another memorable moment was the visit to INS Sudarshini during Sail Boston 2026. The ship’s arrival marked an important milestone in India’s maritime outreach and highlighted the growing partnership between India and the United States. Interacting with the officers and crew and witnessing India’s naval heritage represented with such pride was truly inspiring.

As we prepare for India Day 2026, I invite you to join us at NARA Park on August fifteenth for an afternoon filled with culture, music, dance, food, sports, and community celebration. Your presence makes this event meaningful, and your support continues to strengthen IAGB’s mission of fostering unity, cultural pride, and civic engagement.
