Happy Life Adult Day Health - Where Seniors Thrive & Smile Every Day

Founded by Lexington residents Java & Hetal Joshi who also created Academy of Creative Arts.

“I never thought I would look forward to Monday mornings again.” said one participant.

Another participant smiled and said, “This is my happiest place. The days I stay home, I keep asking my family, ‘When can I go back to Happy Life?'”

And perhaps the most touching comment came from a gentleman who quietly shared, “I feel like I have my life back. I have my food & friends again.”

These sentiments capture the spirit of Happy Life ADH, where seniors gather to enjoy familiar traditions, make new friends, share meals, sing their favorite songs, and find something to smile about every day.
From cultural traditions and lifelong friendships to engaging activities and family support, Happy Life ADH is creating a welcoming second home for seniors at the same location as Academy of Creative Arts in Burlington, MA.

As Happy Life approaches its first anniversary, founders Java Joshi and Hetal Joshi are celebrating a year of building more than an adult day health program. They are creating a community where South Asian seniors feel connected, loved, respected, active, and valued.

Happy Life – A Place That Feels Like Home

At Happy Life, the day often begins with prayers and spiritual reflection in a beautiful gathering hall featuring a temple imported from India and a large LED screen. Participants from diverse backgrounds come together to sing bhajans, shabads, and aartis in the languages closest to their hearts.

These familiar traditions provide comfort, strengthen cultural connections, and create a sense of belonging.

Convenient door-to-door transportation helps seniors attend regularly, while freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches featuring familiar South Asian foods bring everyone together around the dining table. More than just meals, these shared moments create opportunities for conversation, laughter, and friendship.

Happy Life – Keeping Seniors Active, Engaged, and Connected

Every day offers opportunities to participate, learn, and have fun. Seniors enjoy karaoke, table tennis, bowling, golf putting, carrom, card games, board games, memory exercises, and group activities. Exercise sessions led by trained professionals encourage movement, balance, strength, and confidence.

Birthdays, cultural festivals, talent shows, special performances, and field trips add excitement to the calendar. Whether singing a favorite song, celebrating a festival, or cheering on a friend during a friendly competition, participants have opportunities to share their talents and create new memories.

At Happy Life, staying active is about more than physical movement. It is about nurturing emotional well-being, encouraging mental engagement, and helping every individual feel part of a community.

Happy Life – Supporting Families Along the Way

Happy Life’s impact extends beyond its doors. Families gain peace of mind knowing their loved ones spend the day in a supportive environment with opportunities for social interaction, activities, meals, and care.

For families balancing work and caregiving responsibilities, adult day health services can provide valuable support while helping seniors maintain meaningful daily routines.

For Java and Hetal, caring for seniors also means recognizing the trust families place in the team. Their mission is to support both seniors and the families who care for them.

Happy Life – Celebrating the First Year and Looking Ahead

As Happy Life approaches its first anniversary, its greatest achievements are reflected in the friendships formed, traditions celebrated, memories created, and trust built with families.

The first year has been about establishing a place where seniors can be themselves, preserve their cultural identities, discover new interests, and enjoy each day with purpose.

Looking ahead, Java and Hetal remain committed to expanding the community and continuing to make every senior feel welcomed, respected, included, and cared for.

Their philosophy is simple: the second inning of life should be filled with dignity, friendship, purpose, and joy.

At Happy Life Adult Day Health, age does not define the possibilities of life. Connection, meaningful experiences, and a sense of belonging make all the difference.

As the anniversary approaches, the team at Happy Life invites all seniors and their families to visit, meet the staff, and experience the welcoming atmosphere firsthand.
