- Name of Organization: Telugu Association of Greater Boston (TAGB)
Description, History, and Mission: Incorporated in 1984, TAGB is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to uniting and serving the Telugu-speaking community across New England—covering Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Connecticut. Our core mission is to preserve and celebrate Telugu language and culture, strengthen community connections, and promote intercultural understanding through cultural, educational, and humanitarian initiatives. - Organization Summary: For over four decades, TAGB has served as a cultural anchor for the Telugu diaspora in New England, fostering a sense of home and heritage. We take immense pride in our flagship celebrations, including our grand Ugadi festival in April and our vibrant Dasara/Diwali events. Central to our mission is “Telugu Vakili,” an initiative that integrates various Telugu teaching organizations into our events to ensure the language thrives in the next generation. Beyond performances, we enrich our community through traditional poem and mono-action competitions, while providing a platform for our youth to host events in their native language. Through collaboration with local U.S. communities and fellow Indian organizations, TAGB continues to build lasting cultural and social bridges between India and the United States.
