Community Organization Spotlight
SAHELI BOSTON
Saheli is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting South Asian and other underserved survivors of domestic violence. For 30 years, Saheli has provided culturally responsive, survivor-centered services, including advocacy, legal support, and community outreach, with a mission to empower survivors, promote safety and dignity, and work toward ending domestic violence through prevention, education, and systemic change. As a community-based organization, Saheli addresses critical gaps in traditional systems by offering language access, culturally informed care, and holistic, long-term support, particularly for immigrant communities. In addition to direct services, Saheli leads prevention initiatives, community education, and cross-sector partnerships to strengthen collective responses to domestic violence and advance systemic change.
Saheli is led by Executive Director Deepali Gulati with active guidance from Board President Neelam Wali. More information about the organization can be found at https://saheliboston.org/.
Saheli will be hosting a conference, “Beyond Survival: Safety, Systems & Dignity,” a one-day convening of nonprofits, advocates, legal professionals, and community leaders. The conference focuses on moving beyond crisis response toward long-term stability, fostering meaningful dialogue, and strengthening survivor-centered systems. Through keynotes, panels, and interactive discussions, the event aims to address systemic gaps and build more inclusive, effective responses to domestic violence, particularly for immigrant and marginalized communities.
