Lalit Sudan - President of Vision-Aid USA
Lalit Sudan serves as volunteer President of Vision-Aid USA, along with an all-volunteer Leadership team of Founders Ramakrishna Raju (Ram) and Revathy Ramakrishna, Vice Chair Veena Handa, Chairperson Emeritus Puran Dang and many well-respected Board members with backgrounds in Ophthalmology, Optometry, Computers, Education, Legal and Business Management.
For its dedication to the cause of the Visually Impaired, Vision-Aid was honored with the “Non-Profit Organization of the Year” award at the 2024 New England Choice Awards by the well-regarded India New England INE Multimedia Group.
Over the years, Vision-Aid has helped over 100,000 underprivileged Visually Impaired and Blind in India (who have irreversible vision loss), to avail themselves of the opportunities in many fields such as Banking, High Technology multi-national companies and lead independent lives through enablement, education and empowerment programs tailored to best meet the needs of the individual.
Vision-Aid’s collaboration with the preeminent hospitals Sankara Nethralaya, LV Prasad Eye Institute, Aravind Eye Care, Shroff Charitable Eye Hospital, Narayana Nethralaya, CECF (Community Eye Care Foundation), Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya and others help to deliver the best possible eye evaluation and assistive tools such as AI Smart Vision Glasses, developed by our partner SHG Technologies that won the First Prize out of 2400 Innovation entries from the prestigious Infosys Foundation. Working jointly with hospitals, schools of the Blind and innovation partners such as Smart Health Global (SHG), Raised Lines Foundation/IIT Delhi and Orbit Research, Vision-Aid expects to help over 30,000 individuals in the coming year from 50 locations across India.
Before volunteering full-time for Vision-Aid, Lalit had co-founded Market Data Group LLC in 1997, after holding senior management positions at Fujitsu Consulting, Digital Equipment Corporation, Motorola/Codex and Honeywell. Over the years, Market Data Group has been engaged by several Fortune 100 companies to identify emerging business critical requirements, launch innovative IT solutions and conduct due diligence for relevant acquisitions.
Lalit has been a keynote speaker at IT forums, a panelist at the prominent Global Canadian Business Forum and has been interviewed by leading publishing and television business news programs. He holds a MS Management Sciences degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a MS Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, and a BS (Honors) degree in Electrical Engineering from Punjab University.
