IAGB CARES FOOD DRIVE - HOLIDAY GIVING

The year end holidays are a time of reflection and thankful for all that we have. Many families are struggling with the challenges of poverty to put the food on the table, and the coronavirus pandemic has only made it more difficult to stay nourished and find food assistance.

In the spirit of giving, consider giving back to the community during this holiday season while brightening someone’s day. Help a hungry family.

IAGB invites you to help the following food pantries with the essential needed items. Please make your generous donations.

Donate and help food pantries and homeless shelters

IAGB has started several initiatives to help people, food pantries and homeless shelters in need. We have planned several interesting online activities as well as feet on the ground to help these organizations. Note that 100% of these funds will be used for the IAGB Cares COVID-19 Relief Fund

Restaurants and restaurant employees are feeling the catastrophic effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. All of us together can help them with delivery/takeout orders while we continue to practice social distancing. All these restaurants are following strict public health guidelines related to COVId-19. INDIAN CONSULAR CAMP (POSTPONED!!)

March 21, 2020 – 9am to 3:30pm.

Dear IAGB Member and Supporter,

 

As the threat of the COVID-19 coronavirus continues to expand, Governor Charlie Baker has declared a State of Emergency in Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency(MEMA) is recommending to avoid non-essential gatherings of more than 50 people. The spread of the Corona Virus has been top of mind for most of us and there is no greater importance than the health and safety of our community members. Out of an abundance of caution, IAGB and all the partnering organizations have decided to postpone the Indian Consular camp, which was originally scheduled for March 21, 2020, at New England Shirdi Sai Temple.

If you have registered to attend the camp, and have already completed your application online(CKGS or the consulate website), you can mail your completed application along with the required documentation directly to the CKGS/Consulate office. CKGS/Consulate will process your application as per the normal procedure.  If there are any questions on your completed applications, please reach out CKGS or the Consulate directly.

We regret any inconvenience caused but appreciate your understanding with this matter. The consular camp will be rescheduled to a later date when the situation becomes more conducive to hold the camp and we will announce the details as soon as the decision is made.

During this emerging outbreak, please do take extra care and take steps to protect yourself. Please visit CDC website to learn more.
