REPUBLIC DAY MELA 2020

We are excited to announce the details for the upcoming Republic Day Mela 2020. It will be celebrated on January 25, 2020, at the Burlington High School, Burlington, MA.
The day will begin with competitions for all ages. Click here to SIGN UP. Participation is open for all members. Competitions include:
- Story Telling
- Poetry Writing
- Vigyaan(Science) Poster
- Cup Cake Baking and Decoration
- Idea Pitch for Young Entrepreneurs
The Cultural Program is divided into four segments.
Segment 1: “Bacchon ki Bahaar”
Kids’ segment(age 6 – 12) and the performances should be either Bollywood, folk or classical dance performances. Minimum number of participants must be 6; item duration should not exceed 3.5 mins.
Segment 2: “Mitti Ke Rang”
A competition segment open to regional organizations only and should represent indigenous folk or classical flavor of the state/region. Item duration should not exceed 8 mins. IAGB team will reach out to regional organizations to submit an official entry. If your team is interested to participate in this segment, reach out to your regional organization.
Segment 3 : “Prithvi ke Rakhwale”
A skit or a street play or a dance drama and should address any one or more of the top 10 Current Global Issues (Climate Change, Pollution, Violence, Security and Well Being, Lack of Education, Unemployment, Government Corruption, Malnourished and Hunger, Substance Abuse, Terrorism). Minimum number of participants must be 5; no age limit for the participants. Item duration should not exceed 10 to 12 mins. Segment 4: “Dance Dhamal!!!”
Open to participants aged 13 and above; performances can be classical, semi-classical or high tempo Bollywood or any other Indian movie dance numbers; minimum number of participants must be 7. Item duration should not exceed 5 mins.
Note: Solo performances are not permitted. All entrants should submit a short video of their proposed performances for evaluation by the IAGB Cultural Committee (CC). The deadline for online submission of forms and links to YouTube videos for evaluation is December 15, 2019. Selections will be communicated to you by December 22, 2019. Participation is open for all members.
